How to pan audio left or right

Choose your fileChoose your audio file and press Play. The waveform shows what goes to the left ear on top and to the right ear below.
Move the positionDrag the slider to the left or to the right. In Balance mode the quieter side goes down and the stereo stays as it is.
Move the whole soundThis mode mixes both channels into one and places it where you choose. It is useful for a mono recording or a single instrument.
Swap the sidesIn Balance mode you can also swap left and right, for example if a recording was made the wrong way round.

The result is always a stereo file. A mono file becomes stereo, with the same sound placed where you choose. To do the opposite and merge both sides into one, use the Stereo to Mono converter.
